Now in our 15th year of service, Ultimate Outdoor Entertainment continues to provide outdoor movie screen rentals, mobile LED screen rentals, outdoor projector rentals and an entire line of Audio Visual rentals from line array audio systems and live camera packages to LED video walls, Jumbotron rentals & much more, across the US. What started as a small business operating out of a garage in Austin, Texas turned into a thriving AV equipment rental business servicing customers in more than 20 major cities and 12 states around the country.

Even with all that growth and expansion nationwide, we still pride ourselves on offering a touch of local service with local equipment rentals and local technicians in all locations. In fact, we hire more than 100 people each season to deliver and setup our big screen rental events just for you, creating local jobs all over the country.

Darrell Landers Vice President of Technology

Darrell Landers
CTO & Founder

Darrell founded his first entertainment company in 2008 that was originally focused on outdoor movies exclusively for the first few years.  Now offering Mobile LED Screens, LED video wall rentals, and other digital entertainment services in recent years. The company grew from a small startup in Austin to servicing more than 25 major cities across 11 states all over the U.S. thanks to the hard work of the entire team. Darrell now manages Ultimate Outdoor Movies, Ultimate Outdoor Entertainment & Xtreme LED Screens, LED Display Rentals & LED Trailer Rentals.

Darrell has worked in technology his entire career having worked for American Airlines, Dell Technologies, Verizon, Web.com and Cisco, working his way up from tech support to network engineering, project management, data center management and served as IT Director for several technology companies. He describes himself as a serial entrepreneur having started several companies including a paintball company in his early 20’s, a wireless technology company in his 30’s, and entertainment companies in his 40’s. He has a passion for customer service & technical detail, and works with the teams daily to ensure we are delivering the highest level of service possible to our customers.

Darrell married his best friend Laura in 2017 and they live together with their three dogs Piper, Presley and Paxton along with their two cats Shadow and Lily. He also enjoys playing pool competitively along with bowling and a few rounds of golf each year.

Laura Landers currently serves as CFO and Vice President but likes to call herself the “Vice President of FUN”. Trained as an accountant, she has a unique 25 year background in event planning, communications, marketing, elegant leadership, project management, growth analysis, strategic planning and business development. She began working with the Ultimate Outdoor Movies & Ultimate Outdoor Entertainment team in early 2011 and has been instrumental in growing the business into the entertainment company that it is today. Her attention to detail and event planning provides customers and our team with unique event experiences.
After growing up in San Antonio,TX she graduated from Texas State University with a degree in Accounting.

She has spent the last 25 years as an avid volunteer for virtually every major non-profit group in Central Texas including serving as Chairman of A Christmas Affair, The Junior League of Austin’s largest annual fundraising holiday market, raising more than $1,000,000. Laura served as National President for her sorority and has been a role model for collegiate women around the country while serving on Zeta Tau Alpha’s National Council.

Laura helped build a startup freight forwarding company in Austin, Los Angeles, San Antonio and San Francisco, was an elected city council member before joining our team in 2011.  In partnership with her sister Lisa and her husband Darrell, the next adventure is to to open several franchise locations of MUTTS® Canine Cantina, with the first location scheduled to open in late 2022.

Laura loves to fish, travel, volunteer, spend time with her husband Darrell and play with their three dogs Presley, Piper & Paxton and two cats, Lily and Shadow.

Kenneth Schwausch, Operations Manager

Kenneth is a life-long resident of a small Central Texas town just outside of Austin. As the youngest of three children, he attended local schools and graduated high school in 1995 in the top 25% of his class, while also working on the family farm, playing football and basketball, and serving in his church youth group as League President. After high school, he began working in retail store fronts, sales, automotive, and service fields. In March of 2010, Kenneth brought his passion for customer service and 15 years of knowledge & experience, and came to work at Ultimate Outdoor Entertainment as a part-time event tech.

Starting at UOE in 2011, he has worked his way up from event technician to outdoor movie screen rental operations, LED screen rental prep & event execution, typically completing the most events every year! In addition to his work in the field, he helps to train a significant number of our outdoor movie technicians nationally and also handles some of our most prestigious events. Kenneth participates on the sales team during the week, assisting with inbound customer inquiries, managing equipment quality, research & development of new technologies, tech scheduling, and event logistics with both technicians and customers. Kenneth has personally hosted more than 1,000 outdoor movie events and has managed logistics for over 10,000 events during this time at UOE.

Needless to say, he does stay pretty busy, in addition to being newly married in 2017 to his wife.

Jay Lancy UOE®

National Event Coordinator

Jay joined our team in October 2020 as a freelance technician and then moved into a full-time position as part of the outdoor movie screen rental team. Jay has a diverse Audio Visual  background with back of house audio, projection and LED screen experience so he also coordinates logistics for our teams as well as provide on-call support for our clients and technicians.
Originally from the Fingerlakes region in central NY, Jay has worked in the entertainment and hospitality industry since he was in high school. From being a stagehand at the local concert venue to owning and operating a  DJ / Events company and finally opening a nightclub, Jay’s passion has always been around music, production and entertaining people.
In 2013, he moved to Florida with his family and coming from a area that sets records for the highest snowfall every year, he learned a new motto “You don’t have to shovel sunshine”. Once settled in the Sunshine state, it was only a matter of time before he started working in AV again. From volunteering and working at the local church to freelancing for some of the largest production houses in corporate AV, Jay is always looking for to learn and master his skillset. At UOE, Jay’s new focus is making sure that every customer is satisfied with our product and services so they tell their friends and family what a great and unique experience they had with us.
Outside of work, Jay enjoys spending time with his wife, children and their 2 rescue dogs. He loves to traveling to new places, going to the beach and of course Disney World. Bucket list – cross country trip with the family before they all grow up and Bora Bora for couple of weeks.
Nathan Jimerson Outdoor Movie Tech

Nathan Jimerson
National Event Technician

Nathan is 33 years old and was raised in El Paso, TX. He grew up wanting to be in the military and 2 weeks after his high school graduation he was on a plane to MCRD San Diego to become a US Marine. Unfortunately, or so he thought at the time, he was sent home just a few short weeks later due to medical issues. After floating around jobs for a few years Nathan finally decided to go back to school and get a college degree, he graduated with a 3.75 GPA and received an Associate of Applied Science degree in business management and accounting from Southwest University at El Paso.

After graduation Nathan moved out to Austin, TX in pursuit of new opportunities. After spending a few years doing freelance work mostly in photography and graphic design, he found a rewarding position in the same audio visual field with UOE®. Starting as a contractor and working mainly small, local events he then moved into to traveling and doing larger, more complex events.

Nathan joined the team as a full-time employee in 2021 and in addition to working big events and traveling around the country, he also assists with day-to-day operations, tech support, warehouse & equipment management and anything else our business needs.  Nathan is a great team player!

Pamela Blackwell, Outdoor Movie Screen Rental Sales Team

Sales & Event Coordinator

Pamela recently joined our team in early 2022 in Sales and Event Coordination. Graduating from Texas State University in Hotel Restaurant and Resort Management, she began her career in the sales and service industry working in high end resorts and private yachts throughout the Caribbean.
In 2007 she decided to extend that service into the Humanitarian sector by earning her master’s degree in Humanitarian Program Management. After graduating from the University of Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine, Pamela started her career with Doctors Without Borders in Paris, France.
Since 2009, she has lived all over the world working in many countries in Africa, Asia, and the Middle East. Her role as a Logistics and Program Manager taught her many skills and helped build many relationships with different cultures.  Most often she worked in areas with populations who have little to no access to healthcare who are often in conflict areas.
After 10 years working and living overseas, Pamela decided it was time to come home to Austin to be with family and friends. Using her background in sales, event coordination and logistics, she has been a great addition to the team and helps keep customer satisfaction at an all-time high.
In her free time, she enjoys spending time with family and friends and hiking with her little Jack Chi dog Gee Bee (Jack Russel/Chihuahua Mix).  As a dog lover and new addition to the team, Pamela will also be working with our K9 Entertainment team working towards opening Austin’s first MUTTS® Canine Cantina
Trevor Hickle, Mobile LED Screens Account Manager

National Account Manager – Mobile LED Screens

Trevor is a born-and-raised Austinite who brings a combination of IT know-how, project management skill, and background as an entertainer–fostered from his time as a professional musician, whitewater river guide, and chef–to this role.
Trevor has spent 25 years in the IT industry as a Project Manager and IT Director.  He will apply that knowledge along with his experience and attention to detail to help customers plan engaging, impactful events using the latest in Mobile LED video screen technology.
When not at work, Trevor enjoys playing disc golf & acting within the Austin theater community. His favorite pastime is spending time with his daughters and his two dogs.
Jason Flack Equipment Management

Jason Flack
Equipment & Warehouse Management

Jason is originally from Greensboro, NC but moved to Georgia early on and is a die-hard Georgia Bulldogs fan.  Early on he discovered he had knack for building things and soon became the neighborhood clubhouse builder for the other kids.  As a wood-working natural, he took up carpentry after high school and built manufactured homes for several years before deciding it was time to see the world and became a commercial truck driver before graduating from a welding academy and working for Caterpillar Inc.

Jason met his wife in 2014 and moved to Austin in 2016, but also spent 6 years as an independent carpenter and has gained a tremendous amount of experience in building all kinds of projects, which made him a natural fit for the multitude of projects he has on his plate UOE®.  Jason fills a “flex” role at UOE with responsibilities for managing our warehouse, ensuring all AV equipment and project build gear is prepped and ready to go for installations and works with some of our largest drive-in and LED projects around the country.

Piper is our resident diva. Despite her short stature, she loves to observe from above, typically sitting on our desks or in our arms.

Presley, a professional fetcher, would like to spend her entire day retrieving tennis balls and swimming.
